You will find in this category each week, a review on an "UFO" track that is breaking the news. All styles are on the “menu” of this category: minimal, house, electro, techno or even trance in some cases.
The topic will be supplemented by other albums following the latest electronic music news.
Born in Liverpool, Kele, iconic singer of Bloc Party, released a few days ago his first solo album "The Boxer", from which is extracted "Tenderoni", the track we will review in the following article. This track is different from his previous productions with the English group. Produced by Alex Epton aka XXXChange (producer of Spank Rock), the composition is between rock and electro. It raises an immediate urge to get up and go dancing...
Mostly recorded in New York, Kele’s first album got excellent reviews. "The Boxer" was released on June 21 in England on Wichita/Polydor, and the single "Tenderoni" is available since June 14. This could become, in our opinion, one of the bestselling electronic music album in U.K..
Kele Okereke has been already involved in solo projects in the electronic music universe. He indeed worked for collaborations with The Chemical Brothers for the track "Believe" released on the album "Push the Button" in 2005 or for the featuring with Tiesto on "It’s not the things you say" from the album "Kaleidoscope” in 2009.
The Bloc Party leader delivers a dynamic production, where each instrument shows its strength. It is thus easy to distinguish the battery, the male voice of the singer and the synthesizers. The all track live efficiently in harmony, mixing rock sounds (due to the use of traditional instruments) with sounds more electro with the synthesizers used and the rumbling bass. This energetic track will excite many crowds for sure. Here is an example of what happens live, with the video below, recorded for the BBC.
The track also comes with a futuristic video clip as you can see below. There are dancing girls dressed in latex, as in the old videos of Kylie Minogue. The choreography is also very similar. Everything is embellished with pretty dark blue neons, just the way that we will soon have the opportunity to see in the movie "Tron", whose soundtrack was produced by Daft Punk.
Finally, note that if the track has enchanted you, such as the album, do not miss Kele for his unique date in France, on August 27 at Rock en Seine Festival in Paris.
