Lemaitre - Interview
Lemaitre is a Norwegian indie-electronic duo who formed in the summer of 2010. Together, Ketil & Ulrik create raging disco beats, mixed with soft synth phrases and gripping melodies. When playing live they combine live instruments, not so live instruments and good old live vocals. In their short career, Lemaitre has gained a following from all over the world. The “Friendly Sound EP” was released at the end of 2010, and the duo are currently working on new material and playing shows wherever the music takes them. Lemaitre is influenced by artists like Justice, Phoenix, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Noisia, Ratatat and Röyksopp.

Blue Hawaii - Untogether
Blue Hawaii, Arbutus Records and many of their Montreal counter-parts all began with the same breath in early 2010. To date they’ve released an 8 song EP: in May of that year, Blooming Summer (Arbutus Records 2010) was recorded following the pair’s travels in Central America. It frames a time of warmth and novelty, featuring dense female harmonies, tape saturated synths, guitars and drum machines. Eventually Ra– returned to her role in BRAIDS, touring constantly, while Ag–moved to Europe, treading deeper into dance music, electronics, and production. The two decided to make “Untogether” in 2012, honestly the best album we’ve heard so far this year. A great surprise let’s say.

Body Language 11 - Mixed by Noze
Between live performances and albums rich in musical influences, we have almost forgotten that Nôze (Nicolas Sfintescu and Ezéchiel Pailhès) was also known for their fever mixes. So excellent idea of M.A.N.D.Y., Get Physical boss and chief investigator of the compilations "Body Language", to ask Nicolas, the DJ of the duo, to look at the eleventh installment of this cult series that has already seen amazing hosts. This album was released on May 23rd on the labels Get Physical / La Baleine.

Crookers - Dr Gonzo
Let's talk about the Crookers’ album, "Dr. Gonzo" that has been released under Southern Fried some weeks ago. Phra and Bot (Crookers) describe it with the Italian word "accrocchio," that in English can be translated as a "kludge". A kludge is a quick-and-dirty solution, a clumsy, yet effective, way to solve a problem, using parts that are cobbled together. This new album is a combination of completely unrelated and random ideas that came together to produce a different kind of dance music. Just as one might expect, the barrier to a new sound has been broken on Planet Crookers.

Scarlett Etienne - Interview
Scarlett Etienne is one of the hottest properties on the music scene right now – name-checked by the likes of Sasha (who named her “Breakthrough DJ of 2008” in the Top 100 issue of DJMag), signed up to represent Pioneer Pro DJ, and dressed by fashion heavyweight Matthew Williamson, she’s equally at home in the dance press as she is in Vogue. "We're painting our faces and dressing in thoughts from the skies.....from Paradise." - David Bowie.... Hi, she is Scarlett, she is Rock Star. She writes songs, produces music, plays instruments, DJ all around the world and sings and dances around and stuff.... Today, we have the chance to offer you an exclusive interview with this American producer.

The Field - Looping state of mind
It’s with the arrival of Looping State Of Mind on October 24th (via Kompakt) that you finally realize that, for The Field’s ambient techno explorer Axel Willner, the loop never stops. While fans and critics alike point to 2007’s phenomenal debut From Here We Go Sublime – included in Pitchfork’s Top 100 albums of the 2000s – and 2009’s equally stirring follow up Yesterday & Today as standalone points of the Swede’s music; it becomes clear that they appear as mere snapshots of what, for the producer, is a continual cycle of revolutions.
