Crystal Castles - Celestica

Crystal Castles broadcasted one month ago their new single "Celestica", a very interesting electronic track. This duet, unknown in France, is nevertheless one of the most popular groups in England. Every week, there is something about them. Indeed, tomorrow will be available in stores their new album. Concerning the track itself, rather melancholy, it is at the crossroads between various sounds and styles.

This track will be released onto this new album that comes directly from Toronto. After a debut album in 2008 simply entitled "Crystal Castles", the group continues this tradition with his new album entitled "Crystal Castles II”! This Toronto duo is new for us. Composed of Ethan Kath and Alice Glass, we found one more little gem from them. It is the track "Crimewave" released in 2007, whose voice looks as the one used by Vitalic in his previous productions. There is also a remix of LA Riots, which plunges us straight into a fantastic eighties atmosphere with crazy synths.

Moreover, they act for the US tour of the Australian band The Presets, notably known thanks to a remix by Digitalism of its track "Down Down Down". The group also released "Doe Deer” in an atmosphere much more rock, a few days before the release of "Celestica" onto the label Fiction Records. This track will be released tomorrow onto the same album.

"Celestica" has a melody quite common but that will invade your head quickly. There is something that resembles to an Alizée style or maybe a Mylène Farmer’s one concerning the tone of voice, rather surprising. There are also some contagious drums and ferocious samples extract from a gameboy. In the end, we are dealing with a very beautiful piece of music, quite dreamlike.

We therefore looked forward to the release of this album in a full version.
