Uffie and her new funky EP "MCs Can Kiss", delights us. After her EP "Robot Œuf " bland and disappointing, Uffie come back to the source with pop sounds. These tracks have been released under Ed Banger France, the record of Mr. Pedro Winter. This opus available since February 2010, includes the original track and a remix of Starkey and Zombie Disco Squad. The track was produced by the genius with gold hands: Mr Oizo. Please note that "Sex, Dream & Denim Jean” is scheduled to be released at the end of April 2010.
After the buzz of the video clip "Pop the glock" that we reviewed, Uffie comes back on the front of the electronic scene in 2010 with a track that mixes electro, pop and house. It includes a funky voice that she already used previously. Maybe a little too emphasis, it is accompanied by very small and friendly gongs. There's even a Junior Senior style that transpires in this track.
The remix of Starkey is a much more trash track with a scratched voice at the edge of a Fidget vibe! He adds a hip hop touch that comes directly from Philadelphia. Regarding the Zombie Disco remix, there a quiet good work on the vocal. The voice has been amplified by a very wet and reedy saxophone that makes sense in the dub version where there is no voice.
Our favorite track is by any surprise the dub version of Zombie Disco Squad, probably because of the very good work on the saxophone that will easily kill many dancefloors. Concerning the next release of Uffie we will of course keep you informed. She will probably broadcast her first solo album, which will maybe include this track ... To be continued…
