 Hauk´n Baum - Purple Shades

The Dutch duo Hauk ‘n Baum consists of the two very good friends Tristan Moons and Rinke Beckers. Growing up in Amersfoort, Tristan played the clarinet and Rinke played the drums. These days they aim to make impulsive, energetic and melodic techno. Their music is deep, moving, highly danceable and full of love. They have played at numerous party’s around the Netherlands. Their first release, Mascotte / Welmoed, was released by Parquet Recordings in December 2011 and now they follow up with an incredible EP that we definitely played a lot of time during summer.

Concerning this EP, “Der Ereignies” is a pure techno track that begins with an excellent beat after an smooth introduction of about 1.30 minutes. Then, the notes are fitting perfectly with the rhythm and slowly progress in a constant evolving heat. As usual the break is melodic, before an epic end with some f***ing amazing siren samples, that drive us crazy, entering into a psychedelic dance! “Purple Shades” starts since the first second with a driving beats and funky piano notes that give a positive ambiance to the track. I considered it as the best track of the EP, as mixing various styles in a global coherent atmosphere.
