So here we are, Ab Initio 04 is upon us, with the French producer Sebastien San pushing his boundaries once again. Sebastien’s sounds are his very own, situated somewhere in that crucial area between the deepest of Detroit and the best of Deep House. An area ruled by tight drum programming, heavenly strings and deep chords to die for. Melody is key, melody that makes you dance and makes you listen. So here is the short review of this atmospheric “Lunar dance EP” that will be released tomorrow only in vinyl.

Few labels enjoyed such a stellar time of it in 2012 as Andre Crom's increasingly influential OFF Recordings imprint. And with Swiss production duo Round Table Knights really coming to prominence of late, it's perhaps unsurprising that artist and imprint have now got together. Moody, bassy, a freaky lose-yourself-moment in the spaced-out melody, this deep house classic is being re-pressed for the first time exclusively on Apollonia.

Sardinian producer Alessio Mereu had a number of successful 12" EPs under his belt on labels like Contexterrior and Tuning Spork before dropping his first full-length Tripolarity last summer. Caned in the clubs by DJs like Maetrik, Tim Green and Paco Osuna among others, Mereu’s reputation internationally as a maestro of contemporary acid grooves was sealed. Now he’s known far beyond his native Mediterranean shores, DJing throughout Europe and producing releases for techno titans Cocoon Records and Poker Flat. Next up is his first solo EP of 2012 on his imprint AMAM Records called “Those I’ve Left Behind”, featuring three new tracks plus a remix from fellow Poker Flat comrade, Guido Schneider!

Kris Wadsworth is an integral part of Detroit’s new wave, and with “It’s Time” he wears his city’s heart on his sleeve, delving into the electronic music legacy of his home town and showcasing the range of his own talent.
