EDX is already under the spotlight of electronic music world in 2010 with his new production "Party of politics". This LP was released a few days ago on Toolroom Records with remixes by Pete Heller, Mark Mendes and Pete Griffiths. The king of chords and pads reached once again to delight us with this new dancefloors bomb. After his hit in 2009: ATB pres Flanders - "Behind" (EDX's Ibiza Sunrise Remix), Maurizio Colella aka EDX is on course to give us a promising 2010 year...
EDX, which means "Enormous Diverse Xample" is the nickname of Maurizio Colella an Italian DJ who has recently gained some notoriety in the world of electronic music. Currently based in Switzerland, EDX exploded in 2007 with his remix of Dubfire "Roadkill" also released under Toolroom Records. He then created some productions of his kind such as remixes for Armand Van Helden, Axwell, Steve Angello, Sucker DJs, Kool & The Gang, Armin van Buuren and Lauryn Hill! More recently, in, two tracks have allowed him to increase his notoriety: the remix of ATB pres Flanders - "Behind" and his remix of Funkagenda “Breakwater”.
On this LP, we find the original track with 3 remixes. There the one of the house music legend Pete Heller, with a subtle work on the chords and a terribly effective groove. As for the remix of Mark Mendes, it looks like as the track of Mark Knight "Mannheim" with a prominent bass, heavy percussion and a good filter. Finally, the version of Pete Griffiths is quite similar to the previous one, with an excellent solo of chords that creates the musical intensity. The remix runs well and genders an euphoric song.
Once again a big release from Toolroom Recording. Honestly the remix of Pete Heller is far better than the others. Peter Heller is like a good wine: better and better with time...
