Akin to the concept of the 8th anniversary compilation, one of the best labels from Germany, Get Physical, is proud to present the DJ T’s Best of Selection Part 1, a retrospective of some of the musical gems Dj T. has brought to the masses over the past 8 years of Get Physical Music. Indeed, the label from Berlin sends us as a promo this new compilation so that’s why we review it here. It is currently available on Beatport, will be released on other digital platforms around mid-November and mixes the best tracks produced by DJ T.. In 2002, Thomas Koch aka DJ T., along with his friends - DJ and production team Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung (M.A.N.D.Y.), producers and studio owners Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier  (Booka Shade) started their own label, Get Physical Music. Celebrating its 8th year in 2010, Get Physical is a cornerstone of the international electronic music community, and DJ T. is indelibly linked to its story; both behind the scenes and as an artist in his own right. The Best of Selection - Part 1 is a retrospective of the latter, and the first collection of some of these defining moments, taking in the classics, highlights, undiscovered B-Sides and sound developments of DJ T.’s  accomplished career.

Alongside his achievements outside of the studio, DJ T. has consistently sought to create dance music with an authentic groove at its heart. The Best Of Selection - Part 1 is a testament to his gift for that grooves, and to his influence as one of the most beloved and respected figures in electronic music today.

After hearing the entire album, there is definitively one track that you must listen. It is the versus with Booka Shade. Indeed, the guys meet up together, and the result is the same as the one that comes from the team between M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade for instance with their track “Donut” we reviewed some weeks ago. A massive tune! “Played runner” is a track quiet groovy and funky at the beginning, with little claps. Then enters an hypnotizing metallic melody that will arouse you senses. What a f***ing good track, just perfect for an after party!

Don’t hesitate to listen also the other tracks on the Get Physical website to have your own opinion. I’m sure you will find other gems, as the compilation covers a large variety of style, but it still remains consistent.  We will wait for Part 2 !
