I Love Techno 2011 - Mixed by Cassius
I Love Techno 2011 is almost upon us. On Saturday, 12 November, many thousands of festival-goers will descend on Flanders Expo in Ghent. Electronic music, in all its genres and forms will be the main event. It's going to be a massive party. And... Out now, French duo Cassius, composed of Philippe and Hubert aka Zdar and Boombass, have mixed this year's official “I Love Techno” mix CD. This is the first compilation mix Cassius have ever done - in a career that has delivered classics “1999”, “La Mouche”, “Feeling For You”, “The Sound Of Violence” and this year instant classic “I <3 U SO”. The excellent mix-CD contains tracks from DJ Mehdi, Boys Noize, Zinc, Mickey Moonlight and many more.

Systematic Colours - Volume Three (Mixed by Phonique)
“Systematic Colours Volume Three” mixed by Phonique is a not-to-be missed snapshot of Marc Romboy’s vision for his record label, Systematic Recordings. Mixing classic releases with newer material, it is an opportunity to revisit some memories and to look to the future. Taking the reins for the third in the series is Phonique. He deftly stitches the compilation together, blending tracks with a very nice effect. Don’t miss it!

Dusty Kid - Beyond that hill
Paolo Alberto aka Dusty Kid loves travelling, as he told us in the interview we had some days ago (read the interview with Dusty Kid), no matter whether it is a trip through his own sensuous spheres of experience (like in his solo debut album “A Raver’s Diary” in 2009), or a real road movie… At the beginning of November, he will release his new solo album under Boxer Recordings, “Beyond That Hill“ that takes the straight bass drum out of the club and plants it on the roadside. Beats are rushing past like power poles, a fresh breeze is blowing in your face, both literally and figuratively.

Gui Boratto - III
Gui Boratto is truly that success story that aspiring dance producers dream of. From his Brazilian home of São Paolo as a student of architecture and design, he quickly found himself in the position as one of the countries primary pop/rock producers (including work for Steel Pulse). It was with his 2005 debut Kompakt release on the K2 sub-label “Arquipélago” that shot him into prominence and paved a strong path of singles that led to the now classic full length “Chromophobia”. As noted in the interview we had with Gui Boratto, he released his new solo album “III” under Kompakt Records, a few days ago.

The Field - Looping state of mind
It’s with the arrival of Looping State Of Mind on October 24th (via Kompakt) that you finally realize that, for The Field’s ambient techno explorer Axel Willner, the loop never stops. While fans and critics alike point to 2007’s phenomenal debut From Here We Go Sublime – included in Pitchfork’s Top 100 albums of the 2000s – and 2009’s equally stirring follow up Yesterday & Today as standalone points of the Swede’s music; it becomes clear that they appear as mere snapshots of what, for the producer, is a continual cycle of revolutions.
