Available since August 30, the new opus of Dido "Everything to Lose", is composed of 5 tracks remixed by Armin Van Buuren, Fred Falke and ATFC. They show that the mix of various styles is always possible. Dido, who sang on the latest album of Faithless offers to her listeners a new musical dimension. Through these remixes, trance, house and electro pop you should find your happiness. The original version of this track was recorded for the soundtrack of Sex and The City 2.
As mentioned previously, there is a good trance remix of Armin Van Buuren, unveiled earlier this week exclusively during his radio show "A state of Trance". Evolving in a definitely trance style, it still leaves a large place to the voice of Dido. This is one of its strengths. The airy melody accompanying Dido's voice, has a boundless energy both thanks to its simplicity and its rhythms that will hook you immediately. It should quickly become a classic in many playlists of DJs. 8 minutes of pure happiness.
In addition to this version, we find an adaptation of the original composition by AFTC the Spanish DJ, which offers two tracks with a dub version. These tracks operate in a classic electro house environment. Nothing special to say about these two remixes without real innovation. Nevertheless, we can hear very good gongs that should make you swing.
Finally, the EP which was launched late August consists of two remixes done by one of the emblematic figures of the French electronic music scene: Fred Falke. The man with the gold fingers distills electro pop tracks in his characteristic style. Author of countless remixes, Fred Falke broadcasts a dance track that should animate a lot of parties during September. The voice of the nymph Dido is wonderful here. A vocal version and a dub version are available. Actualites Electroniques has a slight preference for the dub version, more easily playable club with a more underground and dark bass.
In the end, it is an interesting mixture of genres that you can find on this volume of remixes. While we greatly appreciate the work of Fred Falke, our heart goes out to the version of Armin van Buuren, who seems more polished.
NB: Dido, which to date has sold over 30 million albums, is working on a fourth album with her brother Rollo (Faithless manager) and Sister Bliss, a member of Faithless too! You will quickly give you more information about this album, as soon as we will have some.
