You will find in this category each week, a review on a MP3 track or vinyl track which is breaking the news. All styles are on the “menu” of this category: minimal, house, electro, techno or even trance in some cases.
The topic will be supplemented by other albums following the latest electronic music news.
There was the world premiere of Turboweekend “Trouble Is” remixed by Tiesto on the danish national radio last week. In the recent years, the Dutch DJ Tiësto remixed for a variety of names, which stylistically far removed from the trance-genre, the DJ otherwise known. Tiësto has taken among other singles with Editors, The Killers and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and now it is the turn of the Danish trio Turboweekend that we spoke about in a previous review about their track “Something or nothing” notably remixed by a young producer : Peter N.
“Trouble is” was a track from the album « Ghost of a chance » published during March 2009. The Danish trio is now remixed by the number one Dj in the world : Dj Tiesto. The result is published exclusively for the whole world on the Danish indie label IDOL!NC and will be broadcasted on 12th April.
About this remixed version, one of the member of Turboweekend, Silas Bjerregaard says: “It is a unique opportunity for us to be remixed by the world’s arguably leading DJs. It will open up new possibilities, so clearly we all three are excited about it. We think that Tiësto has done a very solid job with ‘Trouble Is’, and that he has retained the core sentiment in number, despite the pumped output. We are not even experts on style, but respect Tiësto crafts. It is clear that he mastered it to the fingertips, and we are confident that mix enough to become a hit on dance floors all around, and not only in Denmark “.
Concerning the track itself, it uses as the original the great vocal, and it adds some dynamism. It is quiet difficult to give my opinion on it, because the extracts that you can find around the Internet is too short. Tiësto has already played this remix in London, and during the Winter Music Conference in Miami, where DJs from around the world joined and which happened some days ago. So there is a good chance that many Djs will play it. We will certainly hear it very soon on radio and nightclubs.
