You will find in this category each week, a review on a MP3 track or vinyl track which is breaking the news. All styles are on the “menu” of this category: minimal, house, electro, techno or even trance in some cases.
The topic will be supplemented by other albums following the latest electronic music news.
One of the best DJs in Belgium, Spirit Catcher, author among others of "Sedona", release today his remix of the new production of Soulfire "Neptune". Released on the label Soulfire Download on Beatport, the track was available for a few days on the Soundcloud of Spirit Catcher and Soulfire. This resolutely underground production is a very good reworking of the original, produced by Soulfire, an artist of the English scene who comes from Liverpool.
The excerpt presented on the Soundcloud of Spirit Catcher lasts nearly 4 minutes and gives us a wonderful overview of the production in its entirety. It sails between joyful minimal music and more underground techno. Boasting by a healthy rhythm and a good funky groove we can easily imagine this production to be played on an after session, with an effective male vocal. This is a superb production that we will play for sure in our future sets. After having released remixes for 2020 Vision and Systematic, Spirit Catcher gives us again a very big production.
Concerning the quality of the remix, we find some good reviews from international DJs. Here is some feedbacks that I gleaned on the net, including the one of Kolombo, the Belgium producer we interviewed exclusively this weekend for Actualites Electroniques.
- Kolombo: "Very good remix, I’ll play it."
- Hernan Cattaneo: "Both versions [original and remix] are cool."
- Audiojack: "Very good work dude!"
If Spirit Catcher is in top form, it is the same with the British producer. Indeed Soulfire will release a new EP around the 15th of September. It will be the track "Catalyst", in an original version with remixes by Paul Harrison and Paul Nolan. This will be the fourth release of the label Soulfire Download.
