You will find in this category each week, an interview or a biograhpy of a Dj or artist which is breaking the news. All styles are on the “menu” of this category: minimal, house, electro, techno or even trance in some cases.
The topic will be supplemented by other Djs following the latest electronic music news.
Born and raised in Moscow, Max Bett (Arthur Antonov) is a cheerful and motivated young techno, tech-house and minimal DJ and producer. Having always felt an urge to create music, he started producing in 2004. By 2008 he had already released his first EP “Murder” on Royal Tracks. Soon after, his music gained increased international recognition to the point of topping the download lists of online music shops. His music is both played and supported by some of the world’s most renowned DJs such as Sharam, Richie Hawtin, Umek, Marco Bailey, Format:B, Popof and many more. Without defining any influences on his innovative works, Max Bett has now devoted all of his time to music and is in constant state of creativity… So today we have a chance to interview one of the best Russian DJs. It follows notably the interviews of other famous producers like Marc Romboy, Da Fresh, Umek, Avicii or Dr. Kucho. First, I wanted to thank Max who answered our questions thanks to the imprint Form.
"Hello Max,
Some days ago you released a new remix for 2 Russian DJs : Vzorov and Rufus and their track “Mota”. Could you please explain how this project was born? How did you meet the guys? Are their some friends? Maybe they’ll do a remix of another track from you?
> Not really Russian J From Moldavia! These guys booked me some time ago and I heard this track on dancefloor, I saw reaction of crowd and I asked “what is it” and this track was unsigned.
Following this remix, what will be your next release now? Some of your own tacks or remixes maybe?
> I`m working now with remix for Mario Ochoa and with my new sounds.
Half of the year 2012 is over. What could you say about these 6 first months? A lot of tour dates and less productions maybe?
> I played in Brazil and “Florida 135” (Spain) this was really amazing!
After you give us these infos about your music news we would like to go back to your musical roots. Could you briefly tell us how did you become producer and DJ?
> Actually before it was for fun only but with love! I did some tracks and shared it on some Russian websites!
At the beginning, did your family understand what you did for a living? And now are they proud of what you achieved along the years?
> Course! My first and most important feedback was from my Mom ;) She always listening my music in her car even right now… I think J
More and more people are asking us about the material DJs and producers use. How did you produce a track? Which software or instruments?
> Logic Pro 9, but I use before Reason, Fl Studio, Ableton. I love to use Logic`s tools.
Max, the interview will be published on a website mainly read by French people. So, what do you know about the French electronic music scene? Are there some artists that you personally know or especially love their music?
> French music is one of the best for sure! I know Popof, Kiko, Da Fresh, Olivier Giacomotto and many more… All guys are cool.
You are part of the Form label, lead notably by Popof. What is your relationship with the other producers of the label like Noob, Julian Jeweil, Sebastien Leger, Alessio Mereu or Joachim Pastor that I interviewed some months ago? Do you exchange your works or ask for advice?
> Julian is a very cool guy! I played with him in Brussels and that was great!
Besides music, what are your hobbies?
> Snowboarding.
Is there anything you would like to add?
> I would like to say “Hello” to my Mom heheheh.
