Marina and The Diamonds released at the end of June the video clip of "Oh no!". The original track will be released as a single edition on August onto the label 679. It is extract from her latest album "The Family Jewels" that was released during February. The track "Oh no!" will be available with several remixes from Active Child, David Lyre, Steve Pitron, Andy George Moda and the Scottish producer Grum, that we will review here.
Firstly, if we are talking about the video clip, as you can see below, this is a colourful clip, exactly like the personality of the Welsh singer. This clip was directed by Kinga Burza. It uses a voice as catchy as her previous track "I'm not a robot”, a track we spoke about 6 months ago. It is punchy and funky, in a world between cartoon and reality. So girly and so chic!
Regarding the remix of Grum, we suspect that the geographical proximity of the artist and his talent were finally a very natural choice for Marina and the Diamonds. Grum, author among others of the track "Runaway", won renown with his album "Heartbeats" released few months ago. In this remix of Marina and the Diamonds, we found all the characteristics of the Scottish guy, with a good beat and a warm and heavy bass. The strength of this production is also due to the ability of Grum to maintain the strength of the voice that with some side reminds us The Gossip’s style. The pop accent of the original track is set aside in favour of a more house and groovy melody.
Once again Marina and The Diamonds amazing us with his eclecticism, pushed even further by the remix of Grum. Marina and The Diamonds explode again, with a music style that sometimes looks as Lady Gaga’s vibe.
