Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin - Drei Monde EP

We informed you a few weeks ago that the duo composed Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin will be very active at the end of 2010. Some days ago they released their new EP including remixes of their previous hits like "Callisto", "Atlas" and "Luna". It leverages once again the release of their first album "Luna" which will be released on February 2011. After the excellent EP "Triton" that we reviewed also, the crazy German duo is once again on the front of the electronic music scene, for the delight of our ears. This EP has been released under the label of Marc Romboy: Systematic Recordings.

Tracklisting - Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin – Drei Monde EP

This tech-house EP follows the "Triton EP" which was the first single from their upcoming album "Luna". In the review of "Triton" we announced that in addition to this album there will be a special edition with twenty exclusive remixes by Moritz von Oswald, Chris Liebing, Joris Voorn, Minilogue, Gui Boratto and many others. The EP "Drei Monde" is the perfect illustration.

Regarding the remixes, we begin with the one, which is for me, the best track ever produced by the German duo: "Callisto". Joris Voorn, the Dutch producer, has managed to subtly keep the spirit of the original track. It is more underground and less funky than the original, but it operates in a catchy atmosphere which has a female vocal that sublimes the production. This track, that we really appreciate, will be for sure playlisted by many DJs.

The Brazilian producer Gui Boratto, is still at the top of his form. This original track "Atlas" has been released in 2006, with one of the lesser-known titles of Bodzin and Romboy "Hyperion". The title is just as good as the first one, with simple and very effective melodies.

Finally, "Luna", which was the first track produced by Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin, originally released in 2005 with "Miranda", has been reworked by the French guys Oxia and Nicolas Masseyeff. It is less impactful than the first two. Slightly softer in its rhythm, it's a mixture of house samples that sneak into a dark and linear production.

Overall, this is an excellent EP with one track better than the others, the remix of "Callisto" extremely well produced by an artist we don’t know much about: Joris Voorn.
