Leaders Of The New School Recordings, part of Toolroom Records, continues to bring the most exciting rising talent reaching its 50th release in just 2 years and they don’t come much better than the newly crowned ‘Toolroom Knight’ Filthy Rich. As you would expect, Rich delivers 3 seriously tracks with the ‘I Want You EP’ that will be released on 29th November. The English producer that is certainly one of our most preferred DJ, has released so much fantastic tracks like “Luvstruck” or “Chainsmoking”. He is also part of the Spektre duo. The man, who comes from Leeds, has made over the past years tons of tracks and remixes under his own pseudo Filthy Rich but also with his buddy Paul Maddox under the Spektre’s project. Received as a promo, this EP confirms the dark side of Richard Wakley.

“I Want You” kicks off the EP with catchy hooks that are underpinned by an ass-shaking groove and pumping beats produced in typically glorious fashion. Definitely one for the cooler floors and the most successfully completed track of the EP. It has been notably playlisted on Toolroom Ibiza 2010 Vol 2 Compilation.

“See Me Through” provides a darker edge with stripped back beats creating the perfect foundation for some vocal trickery to get the heads bobbing and feet moving. It is like a deep house track, characterized with linear but dancing parts, using a sampled vocal worked exactly as the previous track.

“Fluble” instills some fun into the EP with an ambiguous, whistling hook that mirrors the intriguing track title. There is kind of a flute playing. It gives a funkier and more enjoyable moment than the previous track, but stays in the same dark ambiance.

Confirming Filthy Rich as one of the true Leaders Of The New School, the “I Want You EP” does not disappoint! Hope to come back soon with an interview of the man himself….
