You will find in this category each week, a review on a MP3 track or vinyl track which is breaking the news. All styles are on the “menu” of this category: minimal, house, electro, techno or even trance in some cases.
The topic will be supplemented by other albums following the latest electronic music news.
Early this year, has been released "Fela" the first single from the upcoming Audiofly’s album "Follow My Liebe" released in spring, under Get Physical Music. Audiofly’s album debut has been a long time coming. Not just because of the nine years of production history that Luca Saporito and Anthony Middleton share, but also for the sheer volume and sonic breadth of the 12 anthems, from where is also extracted "6 Degrees" featuring Fiora, the subject of our review. Indeed, a few days ago, an EP with two remixes of this track has been released. There are 2 remixed versions : one of Martin Buttrichand one of Guti.
Martin Buttrich’s rework simmers at a brooding tempo of 122 bpm, building gradually from subtle two-note key stabs and whirring electronics. A rounded bass tone adds propulsion, accompanied by light drum breaks and otherworldly sounds that flit and fly restlessly. Off centre claps add a layer of swing and tension, before it all gently recedes to a digitised reprise of the vocals. It then moves forward again with deep pockets of bass arpeggios, expertly placed by the renowned studio master.
Guti’s remix hones in on the signature mid-tempo Latin rhythms that have cast him as one of the hottest names in tech house. The pattering of drums and organic instruments is ever-present in the background, providing the rhythmic rise & fall. Faint wisps of the original track’s vocals create airy accents, paired with subtle dub reverb and liquidised bass effects for this summery, slow-mo rework.
