Oliver Koletzki - Childhood Basslines EP
Berlin based Light My Fire drops its second release this December entitled «Childhood Basslines» by label-head and Stil vor Talent founder Oliver Koletzki, backed with a remix from Telonius. Light My Fire’s inaugural release «Bealive» dropped in November and came courtesy of Kazakhstani duo Alexander Kovalenko and Stepan Knyazev aka Fapples, delivering contemporary deep house, with touches of disco, old school, italo and the odd vocal sample. Testament to LMF001’s quality, the EP’s title track quickly climbed into the Indie Dance/ Nu Disco top 20 on Beatport - a rolling start for the label.

Hot Since 82 - Forty Shorty EP
Hot Since 82 makes his debut on Get Physical Music with a 2 track EP, “Forty Shorty EP”. The UK based DJ and producer has already had a strong of releases on many of the scenes prominent labels notably “Houze this” released on Noir Music, that I played a lot, so I was curious as to what he might have for us! More precisely, Hot Since 82 is a Leeds based DJ & producer making some of the finest house music in the UK. He first came on to the scene in early 2011 with underground hit "Let It Ride" on Noir Music. It became an Ibiza anthem picking up support left, right and centre.

John Tejada - Pulse locker EP
Pulse Locker refers to the analog method of synching analog modular instruments and drum machines, a method of working John Tejada and Josh Humphrey have embraced to generate their trademark sounds and grooves. Preferring to work away from the computer as much as possible, John and Josh have adapted a more old school approach to their work, syncing analog gear together, not from a computer, but the way it was synced back in the day. The results are a tight, organic analog sound that seems very natural, showcased particularly by the 2nd track “Bifur Gates”. The EP has been released on vinyl the 3rd of December and will be only released as digital at the beginning of April 2013.

Cherokee - American spirit EP
We are on Route 66, in an old black Cadillac, a raw landscape of red earth, mixed with a blue sky and bright green cactus while we are marching at full speed. The air is hot, our hairs are blowing in the wind! First, short stop at Texaco. As soundtrack: the new Cherokee EP entitled "American spirit", consisting of 4 tracks released on Zimbalam at the end of October.

MANDY - Twisted sister EP
The German imprint Get Physical is in its tenth year. Can you believe it! And up to its 200th (single) release. To celebrate, founders and owners M.A.N.D.Y. that we interviewed some months ago, went to the studio in Brooklyn with their soulmate Jimmy Vallance; and what they came out with is nothing short of enchanting. 2 tracks that make this « Twisted sister EP » certainly the best of the month as the 2 productions are just hits, so well produced. They made me dance as soon as I heard the first notes. Here is a short review.

Kolombo - Don t be shy EP
The hardest working Belgian might very well be Olivier Grégoire aka Kolombo, a man with more releases under his belt than a dog has hair and a long-standing contributor to the electronic dance music scene. Having gone through nearly all stages of the industry – including DJing, producing, promoting parties and the founding of a label –, he amassed an invaluable skill set allowing him to craft masterful tunes for distinctive floors notably his latest “Whatever U Like” played recently by Maceo Plex. Case in point is “Don’t be shy EP”, Kolombo’s new 12“ on Kompakt holding what can be considered his finest work to date. But for me the best still remains the same : “Sniff”.
