The German imprint Get Physical is in its tenth year. Can you believe it! And up to its 200th (single) release. To celebrate, founders and owners M.A.N.D.Y. that we interviewed some months ago, went to the studio in Brooklyn with their soulmate Jimmy Vallance; and what they came out with is nothing short of enchanting. 2 tracks that make this « Twisted sister EP » certainly the best of the month as the 2 productions are just hits, so well produced. They made me dance as soon as I heard the first notes. Here is a short review.
“Twisted Sister” is a deep blend of driving percussion and beautiful basslines laced together by ambient elements floating throughout the track. The track itself is a perfect example for superior and modern sound design and will certainly find its way into various DJ bags. And mine for sure! But the most astonishing element is a short church vocal that pushes the track in a unique dimension.
“Superstitious” raises the kicks and adds various layers of pads to create the late night feeling we all know and love. The synths rise and fall, elevating the temperature and energy creating a heavy vibe that is sure to make you sweat. This synth with a little echo effect drives me crazy and I can easily imagine it played by a DJ that will take pleasure to use the filter knob into the break to attract more and more people to the dancefloor. It ends perfectly this EP, absolutely amazing. Indeed, it was a long time I’ve not heard such a great duo of electronic music. I wish it will be the same for you.
You'll also notice the change in the cover design, this release marks the beginning of the new Artwork direction of the label. Favoring simpler and smoother visuals, keeping the focus where it should be: on the music.
