Ticon - The programmer EP

What a techno and deep EP! Ticon released "The programmer" a new digital release from Iboga Records, taken from the forthcoming album "I love you who are you", featuring a Spektre Remix. It will be released on February the 15th. The imprint presents another tasty teaser from the Swedish techno duo Ticon, this time accompanied by a solid remix from British DJ/Production duo Spektre from whom we will publish an interview soon. A great discovery for us, from a duo we’ve never heard before.

02. Ticon - The programmer (Spektre remix)

The first single to be lifted from the forthcoming album “I love you who are you” the duo’s fifth album to date “The programmer” keeps their previous style intact, meaning fans of Ticon's hits from their last two albums will feel right at home with the 80's inspired leads and catchy vocal-hooks. It looks as a John Lord Fonda’s vibe. The rhythm is laidback, groovy, positive but with a driving, tech-edge that further exploits Ticon’s unmistakable, luscious and rigid sound. From outdoor-sessions to clubs and parties, these malleable producers show no fear as they create knowledgeable sounds to suit all scenarios, a skill that’s been honed over four album releases and a slew of singles to great effect.

On remix-duty is no other than Spektre, the U.K. duo (formed notably of Filthy Rich) who have had a remarkable 2010 with releases on a string of top labels: from Tiger, 1605, Tribal Vision Records and Audio Therapy to the release of their album on their own imprint Respekt Recordings. Their vision of “The Programmer” strips down the layers, bleeps up the adrenaline and gets murky. So much so, that “deep” would be a severe understatement. The deep, pulsating rhythm retains their key, trademark-sound, while the addition of the choir-like breakdown from the original results in a truly memorable moment for peak time techno floors everywhere, and a great follow on from their commissioned Christian Smith remix of their track “Jinxed”. In other words, it’s going to be massive! We love it.

We’ve never heard about the group before, but we really like their work, and I wish it will be the same for you. Just for you to know, that the full "I love you who are you" album will be released on March 2011, through Iboga Records too.
