Rodriguez Jr. and his lastest EP "Esperanza" is a minimal music bomb. On this vinyl pressed under the label Giant Wheel, there are two tracks "Esperanza" and "Chicky chicky", resolutely tech house and minimal tracks. The last time we had heard a production of this young Spanish prodigy, it was for his remix of "Chlorophylle" from Beat Bastard released in November 2009. There was also a remix of one of the members of the Joachim Garraud forum, Joris Delacroix and his impressive track "Calin cale”.
Accustomed to release his new work under the label of Marc Romboy "Systematic", this solo EP is has been released under the German label Giant Wheel. Rodriguez Jr is just the half of The Youngsters French electro group, the other member is Gilles Escoffier also known as Gil Le Gamin. They become known in the early 2000’s leaving more than twenty tracks mainly on the label of Laurent Garnier, F Communication. They also made two albums, including the famous Lemon Orange, published in 2001.
Olivier Rodriguez’s real name, the producer delivers two minimal and happy productions. “Chicky chicky”, is the best track of this musical duo composition. Mostly underground, the track reveals itself gradually. There is the appearance around 3 minutes, of a symphony that charmed us. It is a small gong that gives all the charm of the track, that seemed a bit dark at a first sight.
"Chicky chicky" follows the earlier productions Rodriguez Jr. such as "Kids of Lula." A simple and effective track, with a small gong that makes all the difference and that gives its unique and dancing rhythm.
