What a discovery! Indeed, I’ve just heard the new tracks from the Nuremberg resident Marvin Zeyss, a budding house and techno producer who wears his heart on his sleeve. Although not a musician in the traditional sense, he always had a strong passion for music and began to produce electronic music in 2007. He has just released on Monday his new EP “State Of Mind EP” with two fantastic and powerful tracks: “Numb” and “This is why”. Don’t miss them!!
Marvin Zeyss - State Of Mind EP
Not being one to subscribe the arguably popular sound of “minimal techno”, Marvin describes his own style as a combination of “Uncommonly Deep and Techy” and draws influence from artists like Nils Nuernberg, Azuni and Fakor-X. With his debut release on NYC’s Nightchild Recordings earlier this year, and a few more on the way, 2010 is the year Marvin Zeyss says “Hello” to his industry of choice. At just 19 years of age, Marvin Zeyss is a name we'll be hearing from in house music circles for many years to come.
And now, Marvin becomes a part of In Deep's roster with his brand new “State Of The Mind EP”. Indeed this EP has been released under the young and ambitious polish label In Deep Records, which received a lot of positive feedbacks. Here is mine below.
“Numb” is definitely the best tracks of the two. Quiet linear at the beginning the tension rises progressively. This deep house track slowly progresses in terms of rhythm and then offers an incredible vocal that fits perfectly with the melody. Your body will be transported into another universe. You can’t stay insensitive! Put your hands in the air, close your eyes and let’s your body move. Music is controlling you. Breathe the liberty. There you go! It’s the best track, I’ve heard since two months I think. Huge.
Concerning “This is why”, the atmosphere is quiet similar to the previous one, with a flavor a little bit more dynamic and funky. It brings some clever joyful samples to the song that will warm your home, sweet home. There are also some saxo samples that amplify the power of the production which will fits with emotion in a deep and soulful mix. You just need to relax. That’s all.
Marvin will for sure explode in 2011 and that’s what we can hope for him. I’ve just fell in love with his massive music that is perfectly produced. I’m confident we will hear more about him soon with the new EPs he will release like “Tension” on Tanztone Records, “Spellbound EP” on InDeep Records or “Crying” on Modifi Grooves. We will try too to get an interview with him. We will keep you updated soon…
