On June 29, Martin Solveig aired for the first time, the video clip of his new track featuring Dragonette : "Hello". Nevertheless, we had already heard of this production. Indeed, it took place just before the start of the tennis tournament Roland Garros 2010. The whole video takes place on the central at the Porte d'Auteuil, with many guests like Novak Djokovic and Gael Monfils. The track "Hello" announces the upcoming release of Martin Solveig’s fourth album "Smash", which should be out at the beginning of 2011. Stay tuned…
The video is pretty clever and sexy. It is a tennis match between two of the greatest French DJs : Martin Solveig and Bob Sinclar. Directed by Tristan Seguela, it was shot in a real situation just before the launch of Rolland Garros. There were 12,000 spectators who attended the event. As you can see, the video clip is composed of many personalities like Novak Djokovic, Gael Monfils, Olivia Sanchez, Mathilde Johansson (the pretty blonde girl in a mini-shirt), all narrated by the inimitable Nelson Montfort!
The track is based on a house rhythmic, simple and effective like his previous production “C’est la vie”, especially at the beginning. The track is funky, with an interesting hypnotic groove.
The voice is the one of the Canadian Martina Sorbara of Dragonette group. That same voice was also use for the track of Martin Solveig "Boys & Girls" with Jean Paul Gaultier. He was crowned last year of a Victoire de la Musique, a French prize for music artists. The track "Hello" is scheduled for a release in September. So we have to be patient and it’s a shame, because it could have been a hit for this summer...
Note that Martin ultimately has not lost personal sense of self-mockery and humor. He says about the release of his upcoming album in 2011: "With Smash, I will try to tell a story inspired by my real DJ life, shaken in a burlesque shaker..." We cannot wait to see what this will give in terms of music! Don’t you think?
