This French DJ and producer is at the crossroads of a glamorous and hype chic Parisian reflecting the most crazy influences. It is a kind of UFOs from the French electro, with his long black hair, his cigarette in his mouth and his beard unshaven. He had various radio shows on Radio Nova and FG and he made many compilations that became the standards for electronic music scene. It allowed him to become well-known.
He was originally known as Ivan Rough Trade, after his job in the record store Rough Trade in Paris. His musical style has been described as a mixture of minimal house and electro punk hip accents. Smagghe's Death Disco, is a compilation of him that gives us key elements to understand the electro clash movement in France and abroad. At the same time in 1997, he created the duo Black Strobe with Arnaud Rebotini. Thereafter he gave birth to his own label "How To Kill The DJ".
