You will find in this category each week, a review on a MP3 track or vinyl track which is breaking the news. All styles are on the “menu” of this category: minimal, house, electro, techno or even trance in some cases.
The topic will be supplemented by other albums following the latest electronic music news.
Swiss whizz-kid Pat Farrell steps up to the plate once more with this broiling new remix of H3’s classic “So Sorry”, the track that introduced the home-grown British talent ‘H3mingway’ (known as Dave Hemingway and H3, but also the production mastermind behind Simply Red). He then did the same track with her daughter, the fast-emerging singing sensation in England : the beautiful Maddison. More precisely, this track will be release on the 2nd of May 2011 under Tool Records.
Pat Farrell’s rework is explosive, energetic and packs punches aplenty. It’s progressive-style rolling bass-lines and infectious synth hooks are ignited by crisp, hard-hitting 4/4 kicks, colossal build-ups and blistering breakdowns throughout – a tried and tested ‘Farrell formula’, that is once again executed with precision, finesse and imagination.
This carefully thought out rework is textbook example of how modern house music with a progressive edge should and can be done. A classic mix of style that has been initiated as you may know by the Swedish house mafia 3 or 4 years ago... Throbbing beats are coupled with the stunning uplifting vocals of Maddison and an addictive lead sound that will breathe a stomping joie de vivre into even the dullest of occasions.
One highly prolific producer, a hugely gifted vocalist and a remixer with the all-important Midas touch, what more could you need? This feel-good anthem has quality written all over it. Enjoy it.
