You will find in this category each week, a review on a MP3 track or vinyl track which is breaking the news. All styles are on the “menu” of this category: minimal, house, electro, techno or even trance in some cases.
The topic will be supplemented by other albums following the latest electronic music news.
Dr. Kucho! kick starts 2011 with the release of his “Beyond the rave” EP on Spinnin' Records, an EP that evolves in a progressive and electro vibe. It will be released on the 21st of February 2011 and featured Jacobsen. As we wave a fond farewell to a frantic 2010, and look with eager anticipation to what excitements the New Year might have in store for the world of house music, Daniel Manzano, (AKA Dr. Kucho!) shows no sign of easing off from his relentless release schedule.
Dubbed by DJ Magazine UK as “The undisputed King of Spanish house”, Kucho! has certainly remained true to his hefty reputation, offering us a belated Christmas prezzie that will be sure to wash away any remaining post-festivity hangovers.
Set for release on the mighty “Spinnin’ Records” at the beginning of February, “Beyond the Rave” is well worth the wait and a worthy addition to the vast discography of quality ‘house calls’ made by the ever-reliable honcho of the Disc Doctor label.
The Doctor prescribes three medecines. The Kucho! original, which blends tension-building breakdowns and unique lyrical MC, in an Audio Bully's style, verses with a combination of pounding four-four beats, crunchy squelching bass riffs, sweeping synthetic melodies, and high energy vocal samples, is a musical concoction capable of curing any ailment and bouncing any dance floor! Concerning the music vibe it looks as an Eric Prydz’s production, notably due to the progression of the rhythm. Come onnnnn!
The dub and instrumental mixes provide more of the same first-rate house music. In both cases however, the Master of Ceremonies gets the chop as Kucho! looks to please those clientele who favour straight-up, no-frills, electronic dance music and for whom less is often more. Nevertheless the three tracks are quiet similar. Whatever one’s inclination, Kucho! deliver’s something for all.
