You will find in this category each week, a review on a MP3 track or vinyl track which is breaking the news. All styles are on the “menu” of this category: minimal, house, electro, techno or even trance in some cases.
The topic will be supplemented by other albums following the latest electronic music news.
Deadmau5 "Raise your weapon" is the next track that should hit many electronic music charts. The track, still rather secret, is increasingly played by Deadmau5 these recent weeks. He played it during his last live show in New York broadcasted on Ustream, and during his mix in Paris for the festival "Rock en Seine". If Deadmau5 is rather quiet recently too, it is to prepare the release of this track scheduled for November, and the launch of his next solo album, coming in January 2011.
And yes! You're probably one of the first to know, but Deadmau5 will release a solo album with unreleased tracks! "Raise your weapon" will probably be the first single from that album, but nevertheless the official announcement has not yet been made. More recently we learn some of the tracks on the playlist like the track « One Trick Pony » featuring SOFI.
"Raise your weapon" uses a beautiful female vocal that fits perfectly with the piano on the break, which quickly gives you goosebumps. This crystalline voice reminds us some trance productions. Described by many listeners as a dubstep track, the rhythm at the production before and after the first break is pure house. We feel the atmosphere developed by Deadmau5 for his first releases. Indeed, Deadmau5 recently had released tracks that are more electro and dynamic as "Animal rights" produced with Wolfgang Gartner.
For the second part of the track, it is clearly a dubstep one with alternating rhythms and many techno samples like Roman Flugel’s style. This style, born in London, is increasingly in vogue. Deadmau5 seems to have understood this. Again, he will be certainly visionary. Let’s see what will happen in the coming months...
This tracks moves in a sexy atmosphere at the start and in a radically different style then. It is a good primer for an album that will be a success for sure, such as the album of Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin a, in the early year 2011. Deadmau5 is not ready to make you stop dancing!
