Buggin', new baby of the label Help Me! Music, will release his first EP at the end of March. This article is quiet unusual because it is a promo that I received by mail and by chance. Listening this EP, the track "S.A.Y.S." draws my attention thanks to its musical quality: a track mixing electro and new wave that will kill your headphones. It is therefore a great surprise that’s why I review it today. Buggin’ is a promising artist for sure.
Behind this name Buggin', quite evocative of the laptop generation; there are two friends who played together in high school in a hip-hop/funk group. They made their first start in the beatmaking hiphop. Tired of being dependent on MCs, they found a common passion for "French" electro. Then, a real musical identity was born, influenced by French electronic music scene. With only two pc and a musical culture from Gun's and Roses to Beethoven through Dr. Dre, the two musicians used their ingenuity to create these kind of tracks.
Born from a musical Big Bang at the crossroads of two worlds, hip-hop and house music of the 80's, Buggin’ is characterized by sounds that escape from an underground night club in New York. With “The Other Way EP”, the duo gives us a kick that will not let music lovers indifferent: an invitation to the world of distortions that may soon turn to addiction.
Concerning the track "S.A.Y.S.“ it is in the same lineage. It is like a dynamite ready to explode on a dance floor and help the clubbers to dance until the early morning. Indeed, it was a nice surprise to listen to this EP, so if you also want to send me your productions, please do so, by going to the Contact section.
