There are often titles that we love and unfortunately we don’t know the title. This track of Alan Braxe and Fred Falke Running for the project "Intro" is one of them. Pioneer of French house music and leader of the movement of the French touch, the two French companions, offered us in 2000 a monumental track of with an innovative vibe.
The title was the first release of a symbolic label today. It is “Vulture Recordings” and it was in 2000. Since on, this label created by Alan Braxe himself, released many other titles that have hit the electronic music scene during the past 10 years. There was for instance Kris Menace, Lifelike or the English group Fenech Soner.
The title as many other productions of electronic music is based on a sample loop. In this case, it is a sample of "Crush on You" a track for The Jets produced in 1986. The title was recorded in one day using the SP1200 and a bass played by Fred Falke, all sampled with an old Ensoniq ASR 10. Imagine you make a title so quickly and even today it is still played by DJs around the world! These few notes that amplify the production still echo in our heads with this uncommon rhythm and this incomparable insane voice “ooh ooh”. Then, our legs begin to move unconsciously on the devastating beat. The voice that seems to say "Check this out" mixes another female voice. There is nothing else to say about this track, which is one of the figureheads of electronic music in general.
If today's electronic music is where it is, it is partly thanks to this piece and more generally thanks to the French touch.
On the B side of the vinyl released there was another track “Most Wanted” in the line of "Intro", but with more classic house rhythm. A good title that you can listen below such as "Intro".
